We did it. We took the plunge! I couldn’t have asked for a better day — everything went perfectly, and the rain even stopped right before we started taking pictures at the reception site. Our thanks to the entire bridal party, family and friends who helped make it a kick-ass day — we love you!
Needless to say, we were shot all of Easter Sunday, but managed to make our rounds. Then on Monday, we jetted to Aruba for a lovely all-inclusive honeymoon. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food and attentiveness of the staff. I was expecting less.
The beach was nice, but it was so windy that the sand kicked up all day long, so we only spent a morning on the sand. The rest of the time we were by the pool.
While everything was included (food, drinks, gratuities), we still tipped the bellhops, maids and the bartenders. We would have felt funny NOT giving them a little something. And we did spend money on two meals outside of the resort — one a romantic dinner on the beach at the Westin next door, and another on a sushi lunch before we left. What can I say, we love our sushi and were going through withdrawal!
Souvenirs, the two meals and tips ate away a lot of our spending money. And the casino wasn’t kind to us — dropped about $250 there in a few hours. We came home with about $200, which will be our spending money for the next week or two.
Now the fun begins — time to open up the joint checking account, get hubby a new car in the next 2 weeks, change my name legally. More stuff to do, it never ends!
