Keeping things in check

We’re doing excellent in our aim to super-conserve our cash before the closing. Not counting rent or our usual monthly bills, we spent $125 in the past two weeks — $65 of that was on gas for our vehicles. Sweet!

We also rolled our spare change (well, most of it; ran out of quarter wrappers). That chunk will be going into our savings account to plump it up a bit. And now that things are rolling, I’ve picked up on my freelance stuff, too. Every little bit helps.

Meanwhile, I’ve been doing a lot of “shopping” in my head for the new house. I dream of laminate flooring and new couches. But I know we’re going to have to work on things slowly before we get the place looking the way we want it to.
