Sadly, this is something I’ve been fantasizing about far too often. But a girl can dream, right?
I know what I would do. After putting a major portion of it in relatively safe investments like money markets and bonds — sure, I’ll put some in stocks, hey, I’m young — I’d put aside a nice chunk for fun. Besides months of traveling, I’d use it to help our parents enjoy a life of leisure (they’re fairly close to retirement, but why wait another few years?). Then I’d renovate this house to the hilt. Blow out the upstairs bathroom and put in a jetted tub, bust out the dormer fully and just go to town with flooring and decor.
Boring, I know. But that’s just my financially conservative side shining through!
