ShopRite From Home Success

I cannot believe how lazy I am — I did my grocery shopping from home this week!

On Monday, I noted that I wanted to try the shop-from-home service offered by my grocery store, ShopRite. After work Monday night, I placed my order (okay, it was Tuesday morning at 1 a.m.). It was easy for me to find what I needed thanks to the drop-down menu to the left and the search box up top. I chose a timeslot that gave me a half-hour window to pick up the groceries, and went to bed.

The next morning at 10 a.m., I got a call from a nice woman at ShopRite who informed me that they didn’t have two items in stock, and asked if I wanted to substitute other items. She took care of it and told me I could actually come to pick everything up in a half-hour.

I pulled into the shop-at-home space at 11:30 (I was running late, needed my morning tea!), and wondered where I was supposed to go in — there was just a metal door. I wandered about 10 feet when an employee came out and greeted me, said the camera mounted outside the building showed when someone pulled up. I gave him my name, my coupons and my debit card. He went back in, and came out with my card and a receipt, and then proceeded to load the groceries right into my car. As a bonus for being a first-time customer, I got a small but pretty bouquet of flowers.

I usually NEVER rave about things like this, but I couldn’t believe what a breeze this was. I received everything I ordered with no problems. I definitely think it was worth the extra ten bucks to do it twice a month. I’m sure there will be times when I go in person to do my shopping, but this is a welcome alternative for those days I just don’t want to deal with the crowds.
