After ridiculous heat here, it’s now supposed to rain for 5 days straight. I’m not sure which one I prefer. I’m also considering moving out to LA, where the weather is always perfect.

@Casey: Ah, the ivy. I wish we had that on our front lawn. Gotta figure out how to get that to grow! There are little ivy sprouts here and there, but nothing that catches on.

Yup, ours is dead too. Came back from a weekend in Pittsburgh to find a sad little brown strip running alongside the house. Yet the blasted ivy survives!

Gosh, 104 must have truly been awful in your part of the country. I’ve been in NYC when they thought it was “hot” (around 90 degrees), and it was very uncomfortable. Hope it stays cooler for you folks the rest of the summer.
